ABOUT SIRAAT

Who We Are

Siraat is an Orlando-based community initiative rooted in the Islamic tradition that seeks strengthen our bonds within the ummah through meaningful learning, spiritual growth, and family-centred gatherings.

Siraat is the path we travel together - the community we build through love & healing.

Our Mission

To nurture a diverse, holistic, Muslim community in Central Florida rooted in the Islamic tradition, where we strengthen our bonds with one another and our Creator, support holistic growth and walk the path of our Prophet

Our Vision

A robust Muslim community where individuals and families of all backgrounds come together to reflect Prophetic beauty through intentional gatherings, creative expression, meaningful learning, and a shared commitment to the betterment of ourselves, our community, and the broader ummah.

OUR CORE VALUES

Community

Building strong bonds through intentional gathering and shared growth.

Outreach

Serving beyond ourselves through service, care, and engagement.

Recreation

Creating joyful, healthy spaces for families, youth, and individuals to connect.

Education

Rigorous, spiritually grounded learning rooted in the Islamic tradition.

OUR APPROACH

Three Pillars, One Path

‘IBĀDA | Worship

Worship should elevate from transactional worship to love-based worship. This is cultivated through rigorous educational programming focused on Arabic, the fard ‘ayn (individual obligation) sciences, and practical spiritual development.

KHILĀFA | Leadership

Leadership begins within the family unit and extends outward to serve the wider community. Individuals are nurtured to place communal well-being above personal interest, developing themselves with the intention of serving others.

‘IMĀRA | Stewardship

Stewardship manifests through environmental consciousness and community service. A foundation of worship and leadership naturally translates into care for the Earth and all of Allah’s creation.

FAQs

Common Questions

We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions to help you better understand our process, process, and what to expect when engaging with us. If you don’t find the information you’re looking for, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help and clarify any details.

  • What is the purpose of Siraat Community?

The purpose of Siraat Community is to provide a space in which people of all ages and backgrounds can learn and implement traditionally grounded Islamic knowledge and do it in a family friendly environment. We want every aspect of our lives to embody the Quranic and Prophetic ethic and so we seek to be a place of seeking ihsan (excellence), while allowing each person to get there on the path that is most suitable for them.

  • How can I get involved?

You can reach out to us on our website, whatsapp, instagram, or talk to a board member at the next event. There’s something for everyone. And if you don’t see something you’re interested in, reach out and we’ll do our best to curate a program that you think is needed.

  • Are kids allowed?

Not only are kids allowed, we HIGHLY encourage all kids to attend every program. Community cannot be built when kids are hidden or left out. We need to learn how to incorporate raising our kids through each and every activity we offer. So we will do our best to accommodate your children at every event. We just ask that you remain responsible for them and prevent them from causing harm or damage to anyone or anything in the space.

  • Can I host an event at my house?

Yes! We have many families interested in hosting events. Part of the beauty of our community is that it is built from events at homes and thus made accessible to people all across Central Florida. We ask that you attend the event you want to join 2-3 times to get a feel for the event and then express interest in hosting it to that program lead so we can add you to the rotation thereafter.

  • How can I get in touch with Ustadh Zaid if I have any personal questions?

You can sign up for his office hours here. Ustadh Zaid is also available via phone or email. Please reach out via the contact box for more information.

  • How can I get access to your previous recordings?

Not all of our classes are recorded. And the classes that are recorded are only available to participants who were actively enrolled in the class and missed it for some exceptional reason. We encourage and value live instruction so please seek to join the next class or series live.

  • Who can I contact if I have any questions about Siraat?

You can reach out to us on our contact form on the website, or reach out to any of the admins on Whatsapp.

  • What are some of the programs you offer that keeps the youth engaged?

We aim to have programs for each age group. For kids 5-12 we have Youth movie nights, in which we gather to watch movies, eat snacks, and use the movie to discuss life lessons with the youth in attendance and their parents as well. For our middle and high schoolers we have our Youth Mentorship Program. This program seeks to create youth programs and volunteer opportunities for other youth at their MSAs and within the community.

  • What is your approach to Islam?

We abide by the Traditional Sunni paradigm as established in our Islamic intellectual history. This calls for us to maintain a school of law (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali), a school of creed (Maturidi, Ashari, and Athari), and a school of spirituality (such as Qadiri, Shadhili, Naqshbandi, Chisti, etc). While we do not promote any particular school itself, we affirm the need for people to value the authority of these schools and base all of our teachings in line with these schools. We do not ascribe to any form of deviant or modern movements and believe firmly that we represent a true representation of how traditional Islam should be practiced in the American context. Furthermore, our approach is guided by ijazah certified scholars locally, nationally, and internationally in order to maintain accountability.
